Conn Selmer Educational and Marching Arts Clinician
Dr. John Bell is Professor of Music Emeritus from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he served as Director of Bands and Professor of Conducting and Music Education for 30 years. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in conducting, arranging, marching band design, research, music supervision/administration and music education. Dr. Bell has directed graduate research in wind literature studies and music education pedagogy. He is currently the Music Director of the St. Louis Brass Band and held a similar position with the Rocky Mountain Brassworks, in Denver. An elected member of the prestigious American Bandmasters Association, he has been an invited clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States, Japan, Thailand, the Taiwan (ROC), and Canada. He has conducted all-state and honor bands in Europe, Taiwan (ROC), Colorado, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Nebraska, California, Wisconsin and Georgia.
