Conn-Selmer Adds Harmony Project of America to Growing School Partnership Program

Elkhart, IN — Conn-Selmer’s Division of Education has added Harmony Project of America, www.harmonyprojectofamerica.org, to its growing list of institutions who are part of the Conn-Selmer School Partnership Program. The partnership gives children in seven different states access to arts education resources including: in kind grants, Conn-Selmer Educational Clinicians, Conn-Selmer Artists, professional development, an instrument inventory management system, and scholarships to attend Conn-Selmer Institute – the preeminent annual conference focused on the advancement and support of music education nationwide.

More specifically, Conn-Selmer partnered with Dr. Margaret Martin, National Director and Founder of Harmony Project, to facilitate this large scale project. “At Harmony Project of America we applaud Conn-Selmer’s commitment to supporting our music educators and administrators,” said Dr. Martin. “We are proud to partner with Conn-Selmer to build harmony in low-income communities throughout the country by mentoring children and young people through music in our full scholarship programs.”

“It’s all about the kids!” says Tom Bracy, Director of Urban Education at Conn-Selmer. “We continuously look for ways to bridge the gap between industry and education, and this partnership will support the Harmony Project of America with resources, networks, and tools to build, enhance, and sustain quality music education into neighborhoods that do not have the economic resources on their own.”
