Elkhart, IN— Dec. 12, 2016—Conn-Selmer, Inc. announces Randy Greenwell to the Division of Education as Educational Support Manager for the Central Region. Residing in Pendleton, IN, Randy brings over 30 years of knowledge and experience as a distinguished music educator and will begin working for the company on January 9, 2017.
On January 6, 2017 Randy will be retiring from Lawrence Central High School after taking the marching band to the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day 2017 in Pasadena, California. Under Randy’s tenure for the last 23 years, Lawrence Central has made 22 ISSMA State Marching Finals with nine runner up appearances and four state championships. They have also been a Bands of America Grand National finalist 18 times and have been champions twice. In addition to marching, the concert band has been a state finalist every year since 1996 and have also been state champions five times. Randy is also well known throughout the Midwest for his continuous work as a clinician and judge for many events.
In 2000, Randy was named Indiana Outstanding Bandmaster of the year and in 2001 received the “Distinguished Citizen of Indianapolis” award by Mayor Bart Peterson among his many other accomplishments. Randy received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Illinois State University, Masters of Music from Ball State University and his Masters in Educational Administration from Butler University.
