The Conn-Selmer Division of Education is led by Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser and includes world class educational clinicians throughout the world. The Division’s focus is in providing resources specific to the area of Music Education through teacher in-services, Conn-Selmer Institute, the Conn-Selmer Keynotes, the Educational Resource Center, and in assisting in instrument purchase planning through the Conn-Selmer Endorsing Schools Programs.
We are pleased to announce that a Music Administration Collaborative, hosted by Conn-Selmer Inc., will hold its first full series of meetings at the Conn-Selmer Institute this June on the campus of Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Open to all district music supervisors and administrators, this national initiative is being organized by Gary Markham, Supervisor of Music, Cobb County Public Schools, Elizabeth Sokolowski, Head of the Music Education Division, The University of the Arts, and Dr. Johanna Siebert, Director of Fine Arts, Webster Central School District.
Conn-Selmer is committed to this effort, which promotes collegial sharing, inspired leadership and professional partnerships to enhance the future of music in our schools. Using the platform of the Conn-Selmer Institute to start this nationwide program, supervisors and administrators will come together in a nurturing environment to take advantage of the synergy created when like-minds work for a common issue – making music education a critical cornerstone in our national arts curriculum.
Additional meetings are planned which can include opportunities for music administrators to join the sessions at the NAMM Convention and the MidWest Band Clinic.
