We have an opening within our Customer Service Group for a Repair Parts Specialist. The position is based at our Elkhart, Indiana Corporate Headquarters and reports to the Customer Engagement Manager. Parts and Repair is a highly technical aspect of our business, one that requires a strong background in instrument repair and knowledge of various parts and their inventory needs. This position works closely with our product management teams to ensure parts, and their representative diagrams, are available for all instruments as they go to market.
The Repair Parts Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving Customer calls in a courteous, timely, and professional manner. This role assists and fields questions from Customer service on repair parts and maintains the Conn-Selmer Parts Sales Website. They set-up new repair parts and assist with discontinuance of old repair parts. The role also liaises with other key functions, including coordinating with the Product Management team to ensure new products are supported from a service parts perspective. They also support the Elkhart Distribution Center to ensure parts received by vendors and internal plants are properly labeled.
Correspond with Conn-Selmer dealers for all repair parts inquiries
Enter parts orders from Dealers into the computer system
Research older product and archived information to assist customers with repair parts and serial number information and product development
Identify repair part numbers and pricing to be entered into computer system
Complete parts cycle count when needed
Assist with instrument photo setup
Add Selmer Paris reference numbers to parts in ERP system
Support execution of annual competitive analysis and recommend pricing
Qualify Repair Parts Accounts
Set-up parts website accounts
Assist (if needed) with visually inspecting all import repair parts upon receipt.
Other duties as assigned by Customer Engagement Manager
Repair School Graduate w/ 3-years’ experience
Background in instrumental music
A working knowledge of repair parts and musical instrument repair business
Prior customer service or telephone sales experience preferred
NAPBIRT Member preferred
Experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent telephone etiquette skills
Ability to work independently on multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Long periods of sedentary work
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Must be able to climb up and down ladders
Must be able to read and write English
Repetitive upper body movement – keyboard and monitor use
Visual and hearing acuity
