Elkhart, IN—August 21, 2017 – The Conn-Selmer Division of Education welcomes Fishers High School, located in Fishers, Indiana, to its growing list of institutions who are part of the Conn-Selmer School Partnership Program. The program gives the instrumental music department access to discounted instrument purchases and leasing, Conn-Selmer Educational Clinicians, instrument inventory assessment, and scholarships for directors to attend Conn-Selmer Institute (CSI) - the preeminent annual event focused on advancing music education in schools.
Fishers is one of two high schools in Hamilton Southeastern School District, enrolls over 3300 students and maintains over 400 musicians in the Band Program. More specifically Fishers Director of Athletic Bands, Chad Kohler, partnered with Conn-Selmer and his community to facilitate the purchase of brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. “I’ve been a fan of Dr. Tim throughout the years and learned of all the educational opportunities while attending CSI and the VIP trip to the Conn-Selmer factories,” said Mr. Kohler. “The amount of energy and resources being poured into education by this company is extremely impressive.” This partnership could not have come to fruition without the support of the Fishers’ Administration including Superintendent Dr. Allen Bourff and Principal Jason Urban.
In addition to Fishers becoming a Conn-Selmer School Partner, Mr. Kohler endorses Ludwig Musser percussion and is also a Conn-Selmer Educational Clinician. Michael Kamphuis, Managing Director of the Division of Education, remarked, “We are excited to help the Fishers Band program secure the equipment necessary to grow their band program and couldn’t be more thrilled to have Mr. Kohler on our clinician roster."
