For Immediate Release
Every year the Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) hosts a consortium, and this year it was held in Atlanta, Georgia. During the closing banquet, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) made a generous announcement, supporting 10 HBCU students with full paid scholarships to attend the upcoming Conn-Selmer Institute (CSI).
Conn-Selmer annually sponsors the HBCU Consortium and this year many Conn-Selmer Schools from across the country were in attendance, including the University of Arkansas, South Carolina State University, Cheney University of Pennsylvania and Savannah State University. There are 105 historically black colleges and universities in the United States. A Conn-Selmer company representative attending the evening’s event stated, “We are proud to support this organization and its mission to further advance the musicianship of its membership now and for many years to come,” said Mike Kamphuis, Senior Director of Product Marketing.
Congratulations to the 10 honored recipients attending this year’s Conn-Selmer Institute. A huge thanks to NAMM for their efforts and contribution, without them this would not be possible. This year’s CSI is being held June 9-12, 2013 in Mishawaka, Indiana, it promises to be even better than last year and not one to miss!
