The University of Delaware through its Fightin' Blue Hen Marching Band has partnered with Conn-Selmer to become a Conn-Selmer School Program. With over 300 members in the marching band, the group is best known in the Northeast of the United States for its innovative approach to entertainment and musicality on the marching field.
"Instrument quality, master craftsmanship, and personal investment in product and manufacturing are only some of the reasons I chose the University of Delaware to pursue becoming a Conn-Selmer School Program. Conn-Selmer's dedication to the development of quality music educators goes hand in hand with the vision of our Department of Music. These critical areas, coupled with the company's commitment to music education in its totality made the decision simple." Said Heidi I. Sarver, Director of the Marching Band and Associate Professor in the Department of Music. Ms. Sarver's other responsibilities include Director of the Symphonic Band and instructor of the Marching Band Techniques course. Ms. Sarver is best known for her work with the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy and the Band Leadership Training Programs.
“We are excited to partner with the University of Delaware Marching Band. Ms. Sarver has done great things with the program since 1995 and we look forward to assisting the program in any way we can.” stated Michael Kamphuis, Managing Director of Educational Services at Conn-Selmer.
