Founded in 1876, J.W. Pepper® has grown from a small print shop in Philadelphia to the leading retailer of sheet music in the world. Pepper® prides itself on the values passed down over 140 years of ethical business practices and an unyielding commitment to customer service. "Pepper has been a family business since the beginning," says Glenn Burtch, President and CEO of J.W. Pepper, "first, in the Pepper family, from its founding until 1941, followed by the Burtch family to this day. Those family values, based on respect for both our customers and our employees, remain a central part of our company culture."

Cut Time was strengthened in 2017 by bringing in the technology and decade-long experience of Trigon Road, a trusted developer of performing organization software. The combined experience in the music industry of the company partners is over 120 years. There is virtually nothing we have not seen in the music business. From that experience comes the simple – on the outside – formula. With our experience, we have developed a keen vision of what is needed in this industry to make other people successful – music dealers, educators, musicians. Simply put, we have a passion for this business. We don’t do anything else. We sleep, eat and drink the music business. That passion along with our vision is the reason new products are hits and our programs drive people to your store. And that’s evident in the results we all share. The growth of our customers continues to increase. We are happy that it does, but not surprised that it will.
